Infrastructure
Cary is serious not just about growing, but also about growing smart. Dedicated planning, with budgets to back it up, means we’re geared to expand without jeopardizing our important lifestyle.

Since 1999, the Town of Cary has budgeted nearly $500 million in infrastructure projects focused on maintaining Cary’s quality of life. The totals of the infrastructure project are broken down into: $159 million for transportation; $101 million for parks, recreation, and cultural resources; $10.5 million for fire; $87 million for sewer, includes additional expansions by 2011; and $135 million for water.

The Town of Cary’s water service includes:
• 40 million gallons per day, treatment capacity
• 27 million gallons per day, peak daily demand

The Town of Cary’s sewer service includes:
• 29.8 million gallons per day, current capacity
• 17.4 million gallons per day, peak demand

Other Utility Service:
Electricity
Natural Gas

And, we ’ve invested in our technology infrastructure, too. From robust broadband servers to support for satellite uplinks, ninety percent of Cary’s citizens have access to the Internet at home or at work — about twice the national average.
