Incentives

Cary offers various incentives to corporations that are relocating to or expanding within our community.

The Economic Development Division’s mission is for Cary to be the premier employment center in the Triangle region.

Incentive packages are evaluated on a project-by-project basis, and awarded directly by the Town Council.

In its consideration for granting such incentives, the Town Council will take into account capital investment, corporate identity, quality and number of jobs created, and the broader economic impact on the community.

We often partner with Wake County and the North Carolina Department of Commerce on structuring an incentives match.

Cary has a flexible incentive policy. Benefits can be tailored to specific projects and may include:

  • Job creation grants
  • Capital investment grants
  • Entitlement/permitting fee waivers and expedited administration
  • Site infrastructure and utilities
  • Traffic or transportation studies
